Like many young Thai people, Salakjit is worried about the future of Thailand. Earlier this week, he volunteered at the UDD's blood donation drive to ensure that the the procedures were performed effectively and safely. All blood was given voluntarily, to be used in a peaceful demonstration calling for democracy to be restored to Thailand.
But the forces that stand against change in Thailand want to punish Salakjit for this. The Chula Medical Association is threatening to block Salakjit from becoming an accredited doctor, in a purely political move aimed at sending a message to anyone else who might speak out against the system.
Students at Chula and elsewhere in Thailand would be familiar with self-censorship and repression, but in destroying a young students future the Amaart goes too far.
Please stand with Salakjit Tojirakarn and spread the word about his plight, by forwarding this message or by posting-
A MESSAGE TO THE CHULA MEDICAL ASSOCIATION: DON'T PUNISH SALAKJIT TOJIRAKARN
